Help me save Glossop Tip!
This petition is about standing up for Glossop and showing clearly that residents will not accept losing essential local services. Add your name and help us make that message impossible for Reform UK to ignore.
Reform-run Derbyshire County Council are planning to close Glossop Household Waste and Recycling Centre. This is a disgrace and I’m determined to stop them. But I need your help.
If this goes ahead, people in Glossop would be forced to make an hour-long round trip to Buxton just to dispose of waste. That is not practical, it is not fair, and it shows a lack of understanding of how people here actually live their day-to-day lives.
Closing the site would make life harder for families, older residents, and those without access to a car. It would also increase the risk of fly-tipping, something our community is already dealing with far too often – creating more problems and higher costs in the long run.
What makes this decision even harder to accept is that despite promising not to raise council tax when they were seeking your vote in May, they have just announced they are putting it up by the maximum amount this year. So you’ll be paying more for less if Reform UK get their way.
I, alongside your local Labour councillors Damien Greenhalgh and Anne Clarke, will not let this happen without a fight.
Please back our campaign by calling on Reform to drop these plans and commit to keeping Glossop Tip open.
