High Peak Dog of the Year 2025

Thank you to everyone who took part in my very first High Peak Dog of the Year competition!

As a lifelong animal lover with two dogs of my own, I was thrilled to see so many people get involved, from proud dog owners to enthusiastic voters, and I’m especially grateful to the RSPCA Tameside and Glossop Branch for helping select our finalists. We had some incredible entries and narrowing it down to just 12 for the calendar was no easy task!

In total, we received hundreds of votes and while the competition was close, there could only be one winner. I’m delighted to announce that Wilson from Hadfield has been crowned the very first High Peak Dog of the Year!

A huge thank you also goes to Pets Corner in Buxton, New Mills Pet Supplies, and Fern Moss Pet Supplies in Whaley Bridge for generously sponsoring the calendar.

Wilson will feature on the front cover of the calendar, which will be available to buy at Pets Corner in Buxton, New Mills Pet Supplies, Fern Moss Pet Supplies and Peartree Prints in Whaley Bridge and the RSPCA Shop in Glossop. All proceeds will go to the RSPCA Tameside and Glossop Branch, supporting their fantastic work.

The RSPCA does incredible work locally and nationally, so please support them however you can this Christmas. And if your dog didn’t win this time, don’t worry – I’ll be running the competition again next year!
