The watering down or scrapping of Great British Railways will hit jobs and the local economy.
Another broken promise. Just like the promise High Peak would be a priority for levelling up funding only to see the money go south.
The reform of our failing railways is being personally blocked by Rishi Sunak because he does not think they are a priority…
Hopefully he will be forced to back down. He could not be more out of touch with working people who rely on the trains for our work and our leisure.
We will never get our local economy growing again without a reliable, integrated and affordable public transport system.
Labour will bring the train operators back into public ownership and I’ll work with the metro mayors and local councils to better connect us into the major regional economies.

Christmas timetable for Zink and High Peak Foodbank 💚
Over the festive period, when things can feel especially tough, charities like Zink are there for people across High Peak — offering food, friendship and a welcoming place to go.
Zink will still be running a range of activities over Christmas, alongside their café, and High Peak Foodbank remains available for emergency referrals when needed.
There’s everything from shared meals and board games to walking groups and sober socials - all helping people stay connected during the festive period.
A huge thank you to everyone at Zink for the care, kindness and effort you put into supporting our community, especially at this time of year 🎄
