The watering down or scrapping of Great British Railways will hit jobs and the local economy.
Another broken promise. Just like the promise High Peak would be a priority for levelling up funding only to see the money go south.
The reform of our failing railways is being personally blocked by Rishi Sunak because he does not think they are a priority…
Hopefully he will be forced to back down. He could not be more out of touch with working people who rely on the trains for our work and our leisure.
We will never get our local economy growing again without a reliable, integrated and affordable public transport system.
Labour will bring the train operators back into public ownership and I’ll work with the metro mayors and local councils to better connect us into the major regional economies.
